Students may take domain/methodology courses outside of their admitted doctoral research track. The foundation of the MPAc experience at Rady includes outstanding faculty, integrative accounting knowledge, team projects, emphasis on communication and teamwork, case studies, professional seminars, guest speakers, simulations, and hands-on experiences. The Economics program provides students a strong foundation in economic theory and analysis with a focus on behavioral economics and experimentation. The Fall 2023 application will open on September 21, 2022 and close January 4, 2023. Because the MPAc does not cover foundational accounting skills, the program will only admit students who have a solid accounting foundation. Students will not be permitted to receive UC San Diego administered financial support beyond the support limit. The capstone project, completed during the last quarter of the program and in conjunction with the required capstone course, is an applied quantitative finance project that incorporates the skills and knowledge taught in the program.
